Meet Impetus Ag, 2nd-place winner of “The Radicle Natural Plant Protection Challenge Presented by UPL”, an initiative to advance natural and biological solutions to protect crops from biotic stresses. Impetus Ag’s technology creates novel proteins that bind naturally occurring toxins to targeted insects that cost growers billions of dollars in annual crop damage. The first two generations of our proteins significantly increase the speed and magnitude of lethality, while also broadening the spectrum of potential targets. Our technology has demonstrated activity in pests that have developed resistance to current Bt methods of control both in Impetus’ and third-party laboratories. Our proteins are effective with both topical and transgenic applications.
