Spokane friends! Here's an opportunity to provide insights and feedback to let the City of Spokane know what you hope to see for the future of the East Central neighborhood!
I attended a public meeting hosted by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Outreach Center, where the City of Spokane presented their five-year strategic plan that governs the administration of federal funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development appropriated for housing and community development activities. The City of Spokane will receive approximately $22 million in federal funding from 2025 to 2029 for housing and community development activities that benefit low- and moderate-income individuals. More info about it here: https://lnkd.in/gy2n-UfP It was insightful to hear from community members about what this funding means for their East Central neighborhood. If you live in the city, please take a moment to complete this brief survey to help shape funding priorities for the next phase: https://lnkd.in/g6idxcZj #Spokane #Governance

Now, she looks forward to sharing her connections and owning the power of her identity in her new role at Inatai Foundation. As Program Associate, Tashia works with the Grantmaking team to coordinate several funds and portfolios. Odyssey World International Education Services is an organization based in Vancouver that creates change in Southwest Washington in a variety of ways, but among its hallmark trait is the ability to collaborate and make connections. Executive Director Karen Morrison does exactly this in the podcast she co-hosts, called The Women’s Mosaic. In this two-part episode, she invites local pediatrician Dr. Amrita Stark to share about her work in Cowlitz County, how medicaid capping practices impact our communities, and what it means to gain the trust of families in her care.https://https://lnkd.in/gRFSbPMJ

Forging deep and genuine relationships is a priority for us at Inatai, not just across the state but also with each other. Some of our colleagues traveled to the southern edge of Washington to learn about communities nestled along the Columbia River Gorge. We'd like to give a huge thanks to Comunidades and Washington Gorge Action Programs for welcoming us to their respective offices!
