Last night, I had the opportunity to see the musical Suffs in partnership with She Should Run an organization dedicated to encouraging more women to run for office. The performance was not only powerful but deeply resonant, especially considering Kamala Harris is on the ballot and we're just weeks away from the election. The fight for women’s right to vote was decades in the making, demanding immense sacrifice—and let’s not forget that, even then, Black women were still denied that right in all practical terms. Suffs is a reminder that we must continue to fight for our rights. They won’t be handed to us easily. It takes sacrifice. It takes struggle. But above all, it reminded me how crucial it is that we never take our right to vote for granted. When we do, we see the consequences. Voting is one of the most powerful tools we have to create change—which is exactly why there are efforts to suppress it. And after we vote? We get involved. We show up for our communities. We lead, we speak up and we speak out. We'll continue to push for the change we want to see. 💪
