Ann, 78, lives in a senior living community miles from her daughter, Pam. Frequent visits kept Ann organized and provide vital social interaction. Her daughter relied on in-person visits to ensure Ann’s well-being. But as Pam struggles to balance a career, children and the changes COVID-19 has brought on, she’s limited to calling Ann on the landline she rarely answers. Sadly, this is a common situation. As older adults and their families adapt to the “new normal” of physical distancing, feelings of isolation and loneliness are growing. How do we keep older adults connected in the age of physical-distancing? Independa answers this question with user-friendly TV-based software, designed with the older adult in mind. Independa offers organizations and individuals the ability to reach older adults, the most difficult to reach and engagement with. Independa aids in bending the healthcare curve, and assists in addressing the challenges of aging-in-place by converting the TV into a bi-directional engagement window, with no need for computers, tablets, or new technologies. Independa's remote engagement software leverages the TV to prolong independence, helping older adults stay at their residence of choice longer, safer, and more comfortably, delaying or even eliminating the next episode of care.
