Independent Schools Compensation Corporation (ISCC) began operations on April 1, 1992 with 24 member institutions. Today, membership includes nearly 200 private schools, colleges and cultural institutions which enjoy all the benefits that membership in ISCC has to offer. The ISCC provides superior risk control services which helps members to keep their employees safe and favorably impact their cost of operations. Members also receive aggressive but fair claims handling, where injured workers are provided the best possible care and employers have greater control over their claims and are encouraged to be part of the claim management team. Can a crowd-sourced map help upgrade accessibility on campus? Shiya Cao, MassMutual Assistant Professor of Statistical and Data Sciences, and Heather Rosenfeld, director of the Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL), created Smith College Campus Accessibility V1 with that goal in mind. The new map is intended to be a good first step to inspire conversations, and ultimately changes, around ongoing campus needs.

😷 In recent years, Massachusetts has reported approximately 4,000 to 5,000 cases of Lyme disease annually, with higher numbers during peak tick seasons (spring and summer). The majority of cases tend to occur in certain regions, especially in the eastern part of the state. 🔴 Anaplasmosis: The number of reported anaplasmosis cases has been increasing, with several hundred cases reported each year. In recent years, the state has seen upwards of 400 cases annually. 🔴 Babesiosis: Babesiosis cases also have been on the rise, with annual reports indicating between 100 to 300 cases each year. 🔴 Other less common diseases, such as Powassan virus, have been reported but in much lower numbers, usually fewer than 10 cases per year.
