About us
IU Credit Union was founded in 1956 by employees of the Indiana University community who wanted a safe, convenient place to save and borrow money at reasonable rates. Our founders believed that the not-for-profit business model would best serve the unique needs of their community. Our continued success has shown they were correct. Today, IU Credit Union membership is open to Hoosiers who live or work in more than 50 Indiana counties. We’ve grown steadily as we have continued to focus on meeting the unique financial needs of our more than 64,000 members. Our assets total more than $935 million, placing us among the largest credit unions in Indiana. We provide an array of financial services including mortgages, consumer loans, savings and investment products, business services, credit and debit cards, and more. Our electronic services help members manage their accounts wherever they are and include Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, Mobile Banking, Bank-by-Phone, Direct Deposit, ATMs, and eStatements and eNotices. To date, this program has provided a total of $42,293 for the Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools.
