  • On World Mental Health Day, we recognize that mental well-being is essential for everyone, everywhere. It's a global priority that requires our collective attention and action. At Indigenous Pact, we're acutely aware of the unique mental health challenges facing Native communities. Historical trauma, geographic isolation, and inadequate resources have contributed to disproportionately high rates of mental health issues among American Indians and Alaska Natives. We believe in the power of collaboration. By partnering with Tribes, we're developing accessible, culturally sensitive mental health support systems that make a powerful impact. Today, we invite you to join us in this crucial work. Together, we can build a future where quality mental health care is available to all, honoring the resilience and strength of Native communities. Let's make mental health and well-being for ALL a reality, starting with those who have been historically underserved 💚 #WorldMentalHealthDay #mentalhealthawareness #IndigenousHealth #mentalhealthsupport #MentalHealthforAll

  • As we reminisce about the amazing people we met and the connections we made, we want to send out a huge THANK YOU to members of the Kiowa Tribe, including Walter Ahhaitty and Uncle Tim, who provided Native singing and drumming at our inaugural Regional Tribal Summit. We honor Indigenous communities near and far and support the Kiowa Tribe in their devotion to protect its sovereignty, preserve and advocate its rich Kiowa culture and language; as well as enhance the quality of life for the future generation of Kiowa Tribal Members. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Indigenous Pact, a leader in creating health equity for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN), and Guardiant Health, a virtual-first provider who effectively reaches, engages, and cares for people at home or on the go, have come together in a partnership to form Indigenous Pact Community Care – a model of care that has the potential to transform healthcare for millions of American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/ANs). We have been working to network Tribal communities with a care system that is strengthened by coordinated, on-demand provider resources - expanding healthcare and access to community members “As Tribes take control of their health care through the 638 process,” says Kurt Brenkus, Founder and CEO of Indigenous Pact PBC, Inc., “they need systems built for their unique needs. We help by equipping Tribal communities with meaningful tools, connections, technology, and specialty care that increases health and well-being for their people.” Built around an Indigenous-led model of care, Indigenous Pact Community Care provides services that help alleviate healthcare shortages and that overcome limited access to specialty care in targeted areas. In collaboration with Tribes, Indigenous Pact manages Tribally-owned clinics and provides Personal Care Teams and Health Advocates who work inside communities – directly with community members – to coordinate care plans and programs and to provide personalized, direct care. • One of the pillars of Health Equity is Access. Often located hours from advanced imaging and months wait to get visits from Specialists, American Indians and Alaska Native populations can now benefit from this revolutionary cancer detection test from DELFI Diagnostics. This is a paradigm shift that will increase early detection and reduce health disparities.

Precision Medicine Online interviewed DELFI CMO Peter B. and President & COO Jenn Buechel for an article on #DELFI’s partnership with Indigenous Pact PBC, Inc., a company focused on improving healthcare delivery for Indigenous Americans, on a program bringing our blood-based cell-free DNA fragmentomics assay to aid lung cancer screening, the FirstLook Test, to rural Native American communities. According to Kurt Brenkus, CEO of Indigenous Pact, some rural tribal health systems don't have LDCTs, meaning patients need to travel to another health system, sometimes hours away, to get a lung cancer screening. "American Indians and Alaska Natives have the highest health disparities out of any population in the United States, and cancer is no exception. The fact that this small blood test can be transported into these rural areas and be administered through a primary care setting is a game-changing technology." DELFI’s CMO, Peter B. Bach said "By working with Indigenous Pact, we hope we can help improve lung cancer screening rates in the Native community where lung cancer has the greatest burden." This sentiment echoes DELFI's fundamental goal of making lung cancer screening more accessible to all. • Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! In Canada, the month of June celebrates National Indigenous History Month. Not only does this month celebrate Indigenous culture, it also provides the opportunity to educate and learn about Indigenous history, traditions, and experiences. More specifically, June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day. Today offers a set time to reflect on Indigenous history and on how we can work toward reconciliation efforts and equitable access to healthcare. The day is marked across Canada with ceremonies and celebrations highlighting cultural performances and activities, displays of arts and crafts, and events that recognize the contributions by Indigenous people.

It's been almost one week since our Regional Tribal Summit and the official kickoff of our partnership with DELFI Diagnostics. We're happy to echo DELFI's earlier announcement about our partnership to increase lung cancer screening and early detection. Our collaboration - and their FirstLook Test - was recently highlighted by the #BidenCancerMoonshot as an innovation in expanding accessibility to lung cancer screening. “Cancer is the second highest health and mortality disparity among American Indian and Alaska Native populations. This test is a great first step to helping identify risk in rural communities where we lack access to imaging and cancer-related diagnostics. We are so excited to be partnering with DELFI - a truly forward-thinking group that represents the best of future screening tools, not just for rural, hard-to-reach populations but for the entire country," says Kurt Brenkus, Founder and CEO of Indigenous Pact.
