Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that supports vital functions like bladder control, bowel movements, and sexual health. It's also responsible for stabilizing your core! Despite its importance, many people don’t realize they have pelvic floor issues until they experience pain, incontinence, or discomfort during activities like sex or exercise. Pelvic floor dysfunction is common — affecting 1 in 3 women at some point in their lives. Childbirth, aging, surgery, and even chronic stress can weaken or over-tighten these muscles, leading to issues like urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and persistent pelvic pain. Pelvic physical therapy focuses on retraining the pelvic muscles, improving function, and reducing symptoms. Studies show that up to 70% of women with incontinence or prolapse see significant improvements with pelvic PT. 👏 Whether you’re dealing with post-pregnancy recovery, chronic pelvic pain, or just want to strengthen your core, working with a pelvic health therapist can help you regain control and improve your quality of life. In a new advisory report, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy is sounding the alarm on the realities of parenting today, revealing just how dire the situation is for millions of parents of children under 18. In his report, Murthy cites a bleak statistic issued by the American Psychological Association (APA) in 2023: 41% of parents say that most days they are so stressed they cannot function and 48% call their stress “completely overwhelming.” #parenting #workingparents

U.S. Surgeon General says 4 in 10 parents are ‘so stressed they cannot function’

Crossfit mamas, this one’s for you! 🏋️♀️ We know that Crossfit is all about pushing limits, but when it comes to your pelvic floor, it’s important to make sure you're not pushing too hard in the wrong way. Whether you’re coming back postpartum, continuing to lift throughout pregnancy, or just getting started at the gym, maintaining pelvic floor health is key. You might have heard that Crossfit can be tough on your pelvic floor — and yes, high-intensity exercises, like lifting and jumping, can place extra pressure on the pelvic area. But with the right modifications and support, you can stay strong, safe, and confident. So, what should you look out for? Crossfit’s fast-paced movements and heavy lifting can sometimes lead to symptoms like leaking urine, abdominal bulging, or pelvic pressure. These are all signs that your pelvic floor may need some attention. Here’s how pelvic physical therapy can help you: Pre/Peri/Postpartum Care: Whether you're pregnant or recovering postpartum, we’ll help you safely modify your workouts to avoid injury while staying strong. Pelvic Girdle Dysfunction: High-intensity exercises can put extra pressure on your pelvis, leading to leakage or discomfort. We’ll help you strengthen and balance your pelvic floor for better alignment, core engagement, and overall power. Orthopedics: CrossFit is a full-body workout, and injuries — whether old or new — can affect your performance. We’ll create a personalized plan to address your symptoms from head to toe, so you can keep moving at your best. Your Crossfit goals are within reach, and we’re here to support you every step of the way! Let’s keep pushing boundaries — safely and confidently. 🙌

On August 28th, the U.S. Surgeon General issued a public health warning about the overwhelming stress parents are facing today. Nearly half of all parents (48%) report feeling "completely overwhelmed" by stress on most days, as highlighted by the American Psychological Association. This isn’t just everyday stress — it’s a debilitating weight that leaves many feeling unable to focus, disconnected, and misunderstood. Modern parenting has become more challenging than ever. Beyond the typical struggles of balancing sleep, work, and family needs, parents now face a broken childcare system, battles over screen time, rising mental health issues in teens, and constant fears of gun violence. This isn’t business as usual—it's a public health crisis. The impact of this stress goes beyond mental strain. Prolonged stress contributes to cardiovascular illness, weakens the immune system, and leads to declining mental health for both parents and children. As a society, we need to recognize the toll that parenting takes and provide better support. We need paid family leave, affordable childcare, and robust mental health resources to ensure parents are healthy enough to raise thriving children. Thank you, Dr. Vivek Murthy, for bringing much-needed attention to the pressures facing today’s parents. It’s time for systemic change. 🙌 #mentalhealthawareness #supportforparents #stressmanagement #parentalstress

As mothers, we’re constantly told that exhaustion is just part of the job. Society normalizes the relentless fatigue, framing it as something we signed up for when we became parents. We’re expected to push through, smile, and carry on — because “all mothers are tired.” But what if that exhaustion is telling us something more? What if it’s not just a side effect of motherhood, but a signal that something deeper is happening in our bodies? In an article published in Motherly®, DeeDee Andrews shares her experience living with the belief that her extreme fatigue was just part of being a mom. For six long years, she pushed through, unaware that she was actually battling a chronic illness — severe anemia caused by undiagnosed adenomyosis. It wasn’t until after her hysterectomy that she finally realized her exhaustion wasn’t "normal" — it was a sign of something much more serious. Those six years took a toll, costing her countless precious moments with her children as she struggled to keep up. This experience highlights the societal narrative that too often dismisses maternal exhaustion as simply part of motherhood, masking underlying health issues. DeeDee’s story is one we want to highlight because it speaks to an issue many mothers face: their symptoms being overlooked, and their health needs being diminished by societal expectations of motherhood. Remember to listen to your body and seek care when something feels off — because fatigue is common, but suffering in silence should never be. ❤ #maternalhealth #womenshealth #motherhood #postpartumcare #postpartumsupport #postpartumdepression #ppd

Breast cancer affects millions of people all around the world. It's a diagnosis that no one wants to hear, and not only does it disrupt the life of the person diagnosed but ripples through entire families and communities. Whether it’s a mother, sister, daughter, or friend, almost all of us know someone who has faced this incredibly difficult battle. It’s a reality that far too many people face. But it’s not just about the numbers or statistics. It's about the countless stories of strength, resilience, and sometimes loss. It's about the overwhelming uncertainty that comes with treatment decisions, the exhaustion of enduring therapies, and the silent anxiety about what the future holds. Yet, in the face of these challenges, there is hope. With early detection, the chance of survival increases significantly. Regular screenings and self-exams can make a massive difference. Advancements in research and treatment (like targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and personalized care) are improving outcomes by giving people more options for recovery. This October, let's raise awareness, encourage action, and remind ourselves that we all play a part in the fight against breast cancer. Whether through a simple conversation, scheduling a screening orreminding a friend to check their breasts, every action matters no matter how small it may seem. Let’s continue this conversation. 🎀 #breastcancerawareness #thinkpink #breastcancermonth #pinktober #pinkribbon #breastcancertreatment #pelvichealth
