The Indy Art Center is saddened to learn the news of the loss of a dear friend and supporter, Mr. Robert H. McKinney, who passed away on September 29 at the age of 98. We are grateful for the long-term relationship with the entire McKinney family and are better for having known him. His accomplishments and enduring contributions to our community are many, and he will be missed.

To filmmakers in the Midwest and beyond: If you’re looking for a comfortable setting in which to screen your films, the Indianapolis Art Center (@Indy Art Center ) is a perfect venue. Its in-house theater has updated sound and projection systems as well as a stage perfect for follow-up conversations or Q&A sessions, while its intimate setting encourages audience engagement with speakers or panelists. Housed in a building designed by celebrated architect Michael Graves, the Indianapolis Art Center is a 90-year-old nonprofit cultural organization offering classes in an array of media from drawing and painting to woodworking and glass blowing. It’s situated on the south bank of the White River and is surrounded by Artspark, a 9.5-acre landscaped sculpture garden also designed by Graves. The Indy Art Center will soon be more accessible if this crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $50,000 by October 31, 2024. If successful, this project will receive a matching grant as part of our #CreatINgPlaces program. Funds from this campaign will be used to add a new ADA-accessible ramp for the Indy Art Center’s Cultural Complex building, which hosts six art studios for education and outreach programs, giving more Hoosiers opportunities to engage in the arts. https://lnkd.in/gSBYTeAJ
