INFERNO Project
Renewable Energy Power Generation
Sustainable energy harvesting from industrial waste heat.
About us
INFERNO is a Horizon Europe project led by six partners from three countries and aims to develop a system to turn industrial waste heat into electricity. This system will use three advanced technologies: thermophotovoltaics (TPV), a Metasurface collector (a heat-capturing surface), and thermoelectric generators (TEG). With an innovative design strategy, these components will be integrated to develop a modular hybrid energy harvesting system that can be easily integrated into the production lines for converting industrial waste heat into usable electricity. The project's ultimate goal is to create an efficient and easy-to-install system that reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions, benefiting society with a greener quality of life. Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.

🔥 Meet the INFERNO Partners: Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research ♨️ The IFW Dresden is a non-profit research institute in the legal form of a registered association. The purpose of the association is fundamental and applied research in the fields of solid state and materials research as well as the training of young scientists and staff. We explore the physics and chemistry of new materials. Our aim is to generate new fundamental knowledge and innovations. New materials are necessary to store information in a better way and to transmit it faster, to filter waves of specific frequency, to shield magnetic fields, to convert heat into electricity or to store energy. These processes take place at the level of molecules, atoms and electrons and are determined by the laws of quantum physics. At IFW Dresden, we investigate these physical laws and develop materials with better or completely new functions. 👉 Know more about IFW Dresden: https://lnkd.in/d3NCP9VU #INFERNOproject #energy #thermoelectric #photovoltaics Tyndall National Institute | Technological University Dublin | Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE | Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research | Université de Technologie de Troyes | F6S Innovation
