Did you know that a stylus (the pen used for digital art) is just as good for developing fine motor skills as traditional art tools, like a paintbrush or pencil? 🖌️ So, if you’re a teacher and you’re worried that children will miss out on these essential skills, put your mind at ease! The use of a stylus actually helps strengthen hand muscles, improve coordination, and enhance control over small, detailed movements, which are key components of fine motor skills. We’ve included Portraiture as a module in our iNGENiO digital art programme for lots of reasons! Read below to find out why: ⭐ Encourages Self-Expression It can be empowering for kids to see themselves and others represented in their own artwork, helping them to develop a sense of self-worth and confidence. 🔎 Develops Observation Skills Drawing or painting portraits requires careful observation. Kids learn to notice details, proportions, and features. 🧠 Stimulates Critical Thinking Analysing portraits encourages students to think critically about artistic choices, such as why certain colors or styles are used leading to deeper discussions about cultural and historical contexts. 🏺 Builds Historical and Cultural Knowledge Studying historical portraits can provide insights into different eras and societies, enriching students' understanding of the world, past and present. Incorporate Portraiture and other digital art modules including landscapes, architecture and more when you sign up your school for iNGENiO in 2025! 🙌 Book a free, online demo with Tash at your convenience by visiting https://bit.ly/3A1Nrz8 and discover exactly what value iNGENiO can bring to your students.

At the beginning of our journey, before our online platform had been created, our iNGENiO team had the privilege of running digital art classes with the kids from Sun Valley Primary in Cape Town, many of whom had never done digital art before! 🎨 This experience fueled our determination to take these classes online and two years later, iNGENiO was officially launched! Here is some of their feedback, ‘straight from the horse’s mouth’.
