Through Inn-Clusivity, the non-profit I founded to create career opportunities for special needs adults in the #HospitalityIndustry, we brought a special surprise to Inspire of Central Florida last week! We hired an ice cream truck to treat these amazing individuals (our incredible specialists) to a day of joy, laughter, and, of course, delicious ice cream. Watching their faces light up with happiness was absolutely priceless. This day wasn’t just about serving ice cream—it was about celebrating these wonderful people and creating moments of pure connection and joy. With over a year in the making, It is with great pride and joy that I share some amazing news about Inn-Clusivity! Earlier today, Amanda and Jacob, two specialists from the Inspire Vocational School, started their brand new #hospitality job at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, including the General Manager, the incredible Cathy Zucker and Director of Human Resources, Maria Urquiola, Amanda and Jacob begin their new jobs at the resort. Everyone's joy was palpable, especially our two specialists, given that their lives have taken a meaningful turn. This isn't just about a job; it's about joining an inclusive team where diversity is celebrated. I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to Cathy Zucker, GM at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, and Sara Owen of Inspire of Central Florida for their invaluable support and partnership. I’m thrilled to share an update on our journey with Inn-Clusivity. We've recently had a productive session with our eager specialists, discussing the essence of service in the #HospitalityIndustry. And, great news, one of our hotel partners has agreed to interview two Intellectually Diverse adults for a position in housekeeping and stewarding. It’s been 9 months in the making so this is an important moment for our mission. This progress is a testament to our commitment to fostering inclusivity within the hospitality industry, providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with #SpecialNeeds. It's a step towards not just transforming our industry but enriching our workplaces with diverse talents and insights.
