    The Pitch Competition focuses on ventures that are centered around a service or product addressing a public health need with a viable solution. Student teams are paired with an entrepreneurial coach to help them refine their pitches in the weeks leading up to the competition. Watch teams compete for cash prizes and vote for the People’s Choice Award!     Sensible Pad, a student team competing in the 2024 Gillings School Pitch Competition, is a diagnostic menstrual pad that non-invasively screens for cervical cancer at a low cost, making cancer screening more accessible.     Tangerine:Acuity is a free vision screening app designed for use in low- and middle-income countries. Developed by RTI International in collaboration with Dr. Emily Gower from UNC Gillings, a prior RTI University Scholar, and Yinchen He from NC State, this app aims to make vision screenings more accessible and affordable globally.
