Today's featured fabrication features Mike and our Honey 10 RT belt, and it's a fun one (with an appearance by Biaggio). Biaggio cuts the belt to its correct width and length and then hands it off to Mike. Mike starts by measuring the 18 sections on the belt that need to have the profile removed. Once they are marked off, he uses his trusty skiver to peel off a 1.5" wide strip every 4'. After he finishes the 18 strips, he removes the profile on the ends of the belt and then crimps on the unibar Clipper lacing. Sean and Johnny and working together to fabricate our Pure 10 Mini IP Blue. Sean punches fingers in the belt and makes it endless by vulcanizing the belt in our small air-cooled press. He handed the belt off to Johnny to edge seal the belt with our new Edge Sealing machine. Sealing the edges of the belt acts as a barrier against oil, grease, water, foreign particles, and bacteria, keeping them from seeping into the belt's fabric. It also helps to extend the lifespan of the belt. Another two for one fabrication featured video!🔥 The shop is humming along, and sometimes you have to fabricate two different belts at the same time. Sean is making our Honey 10 RT belt endless and welding on notched PU V-Guide to our REO-F30 Rice pattern homogeneous belt. He first makes a Honey 10 RT sleeve to the proper length and then cuts it to width on our rotary slitter. Peter is here to break down the process he uses to add clipper lacing to our SWK4 Carbon woven Kevlar belt. He starts by cutting the belt to length and then treats the edges with hardener. Once the hardener dries and cures, he crimps on the unibar clipper lacing to the ends. Need a custom fabrication that isn't a typical conveyor belt order? It's not a problem, send it our way. As a case in point, Mike is fabricating our White Polyester Needled Felt Pad with a sewn loop on one end of the pad. He starts by marking off the size of the loop and then folding the pad to create the loop and clipping it to keep its shape. He then sews the loop with 3 rows of polyester stitching. Once it's stitched, he trims the belt to the right size. Just a few weeks into the new year and we are making sure our New Year's resolution of providing you with even better service, lower prices and faster (yet still perfect) fabrication is still on track. It's all hands on deck with this order of our Pure 10 Mini IP Blue. Well, not everybody, just Peter and Sean (with a little off-camera help from Biaggio). This order is for 50+ belts of various widths and lengths, so to make it easier, Sean creates sleeves of the different lengths of the belts in order to make the process more efficient. Once the sleeves are made endless in our water-cooled press, Peter sets up the rotary slitter and cuts the belts to the correct widths. Once the sleeves are all cut, Sean and Peter shrink wrap and label them before boxing them up. Make sure to rewatch the end of the video featuring Sean's shrink wrapping technique using a square. 😂

Here's a little sneak peek of our new Timing Belt Fabrication shop (that's nearing completion - stay tuned). Johnny uses our timing belt milling machine to grind two 18mm wide grooves at each edge and one 24mm groove at the center of a supplied T20 PAZ timing belt. He starts by measuring the groove locations and once they are marked he then mills each groove with two passes. Once the grooves are milled, he scraps the PAZ nylon coating off of the edges of the belt.
