With informed action, social studies classrooms are transformed into vibrant spaces filled with purposeful learning. Check out these examples of informed action from inquirED classrooms across the country. ⬇️ 1️⃣ As part of our “Economic Choices” unit, fourth-grade students in Oregon created a good or service to sell and then created advertisements for their products. 2️⃣ To explore the wide diversity of Indigenous peoples and cultures, fifth graders in California created replicas of different Native American tribal lands and homes. 3️⃣ During the “Natural Resources of the US” unit, fourth graders in Colorado made educational board games to teach younger students about food waste in the US. 4️⃣ Second graders in New York learned about the transcontinental railroad in our “Innovation” Inquiry Unit by creating maps of the railroad, then reflecting on what was missing from them.
