Pfizer Breakthrough Fellow | Student at The University of Texas at Austin - Red McCombs School of Business

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to be a Breakthrough Fellow at Pfizer, working with the Institutional Contract Management team based out of the New York office. Pfizer’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace is evident through their Breakthrough Fellowship Program, a new initiative launched in 2021. This program is a six-year commitment designed to develop a pipeline of diverse leaders and advance those with a strong dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. During my fellowship, I was tasked with managing and analyzing eligibility data sets, which involved extracting insights for more informed decision-making. I also played a key role in improving operational metrics using Pfizer’s modeling systems, ensuring we stayed compliant with regulatory and pricing guidelines while adhering to brand strategy. Collaborating with various cross-functional teams, including Contract Strategy, Legal, and Product Teams, was a particularly rewarding aspect of my experience. Building these relationships not only strengthened my understanding of Pfizer’s operations but also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to our shared goals. I’m deeply grateful for the endless support from my team and want to thank my amazing manager Sara Harvey following the Breakthrough Program managers Nelva R. Rodriguez, M.Ed, MBA Molly Minerva Molly Borst. I also want to take this time to thank INROADS and Lesa Lorrits for sharing this opportunity with me. Their mentorship and encouragement have been invaluable throughout this journey. I’m thrilled to share that I will be returning to Pfizer full-time. This opportunity marks an exciting new chapter, and I’m looking forward to continuing growing and contributing to Pfizer’s mission. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way! #Pfizer #BreakthroughFellow

Computer Technology Major at Bowie State University

I’m excited to share my experience as a National Diversity Internship Program (NDIP) Intern in the Office of Financial Technology at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) this summer. Over the past few months, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with a brilliant and supportive team, which allowed me to dive deep into critical projects and grow both professionally and personally. A special thank you to my manager and mentors, Keri Kern, Miriam Bazan, and Tamara Brooks, for their invaluable guidance and support. I also want to express my gratitude to Althea Degree for her mentorship as well and to INROADS for connecting me with this amazing opportunity. One of the most valuable takeaways from this summer has been learning about finance, which has sparked my interest in further exploring this field. As I prepare to graduate in December 2024 with a B.S. in Computer Technology, I’m excited about the possibility of pursuing finance in the future and combining both fields in my career. Here’s to an exciting future ahead! 📈🚀

Thank you Morgan Ray, MA,CCC for the opportunity to share my career experiences and advice with students at Shaw University this evening. Internships played an important part of my career journey and, as an HBCU graduate (go NCCU Eagles), it is a privilege to be able to give back in a small way. It was great having your bright students on the panel as well. Also, what a full circle moment for Cierra Ashley Wilson, MBA and I to be on this panel together when we met nearly 20 years ago as INROADS interns.
