Hello! I’m just concluding my first week as Editor in Chief of Business Insider. I started Monday morning with an address to the newsroom, live in our downtown New York office and remotely to colleagues around the world. I shared what I love about BI and my aspirations for the publication as we move forward together. Today, I sent a note to readers seeking their input as we deepen and strengthen our focus on business, technology, and innovation — for both work and life. Last year, our research discovered that nearly 74% of media consumers agree that content told from a person-first approach is more relatable. More than half also stated that ads are more relatable when they evoke emotion. ICYMI - One of my favorite projects recently was programming this event, The Road to IPO, featuring speakers from Reddit, Inc., Goldman Sachs, Latham & Watkins, Fidelity Investments, and Brunswick Group. At the core is the story of Reddit's successful IPO earlier this year, which had been previously delayed. "Two years of sort of a pause, or a wait, was one of the best things that actually happened to Reddit," said Jesse Rose, Reddit's head of investor relations.
