    Excellent overview here, which defines the "Lead Generator Loophole" that the FCC seeks to close. Most relevant here are the steps lead generators need to take preemptively. There will be less leads, and lead generators must do more to add value to each. What this article misses is that, more than simply a random checklist of sellers, the O/O experience should employ some INTELLIGENCE in that selection and the presentation of suggested sellers. It seems fairly obvious - the more a lead generator or FMO can do to match a buyer to specific sellers, the more likely the consumer will move forward with selecting a seller and opting into the subsequent sales process. This helps the lead generator ensure they can command the value - and pricing - they need to justify their marketing expenses. From the lead buyer perspective, they are on the hook for ensuring end-to-end consent and compliance. Further, they need to make sure they have the momentum/intent/pre-education for each of the consumers passed to them, to ensure a high enough close rate to provide a reasonable CPA (given the higher pricing and lower volume of these new and more highly qualified, intelligently-matched leads). BOTTOM LINE - Everybody wins when a consumer is pre-educated to have an idea what they're looking for, when intent is verified, and when they're each matched to a seller who represents the products that suit their needs. It seems to me to be the only way forward. Insurance agencies and marketing organizations need to elevate and control their own prospect experience.
