For 30 years, IJ has come to the aid of real people fighting outrageous government abuse.
About us
Through strategic litigation, training, communication, activism and research, the Institute for Justice advances a rule of law under which individuals can control their destinies as free and responsible members of society. IJ litigates to secure economic liberty, educational choice, private property rights, freedom of speech and other vital individual liberties, and to restore constitutional limits on the power of government. In addition, IJ trains law students, lawyers and policy activists in the tactics of public interest litigation. Through these activities, IJ illustrates and extends the benefits of freedom to those whose full enjoyment of liberty is denied by government.

Ever plead a remedy as a count in a complain? Ever not read an 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑟𝑒 case that you cited in a brief or article? What's up with special masters at the Supreme Court? What do riparian rights have to do with outer space? And is it wrong to "judicial name-drop"? John Wrench, Samuel Gedge, and I mused on these topics with opinions we would never publish. So instead we shared them with you on the latest edition of Unpublished Opinions. The podcast where Institute for Justice attorneys talk about the law. (And which you can now subscribe to on its own feed!) https://lnkd.in/gTAUmmkP

New Institute for Justice video for a case we are appealing to the Supreme Court. A family in Atlanta suffered when FBI agents raided the wrong home. Gabe was 7 when he was startled awake by a flashbang grenade and heavily armed men running into his bedroom. When government employees make mistakes, Congress wanted people to be allowed to sue. But courts have created loopholes that make the law dependent on where people live. That's wrong and IJ is asking the Court to take the case and end the legal confusion. https://lnkd.in/eg4W74MN
