Michael Nelson and I gave a keynote and breakout in Halifax for the Education Leadership Consortium of Nova Scotia (ELCNS), and a full day workshop in Moncton for New Brunswick school administrators. We have a 15-month hybrid approach with NB that is focusing on fostering collective leader efficacy among Instructional Leadership Teams (ILT). This year, we are grouping leaders into smaller communities of practice based on their area of focus for their school improvement plans, and the communities will meet monthly to discuss areas of need and areas of progress. At the ILC we believe that work-life balance is vital to our every day lives! Michael Nelson and his wife Britt grow their own vegetables that Mike uses in his gourmet meals. Both Peter DeWitt, Ed.D. and Mike are avid runners. Peter just competed in a sprint triathlon over the weekend (11th overall!), and they run half marathons too. #mentalhealth #wellbeing #livewithintention

For today’s #featurefriday we would like to highlight some learning moves Michael Nelson and Peter DeWitt, Ed.D. created for their workshops. 1. AWE protocol - What do you agree with? What makes you wonder? What do you want to explore? They use it with different passages they have participants read or they use it with leaders and teachers looking at academic plans. 2. Gradual Release of Responsibility - They naturally infuse ai into everything they do. GRR is a great way to use ai to understand different perspectives (in their book Leading With Intention Mike and Peter look at internal and external self-awareness) around a variety of topics.
