Someone asked me last week, “What’s the average industry success rate for grant proposals?” (aka the ratio of grants awarded to the total number submitted).🤔 I knew it was lower than what most would guess, but after some research, I found that... 🔹Nationally, grant writing success rates typically range from 10-30% depending on the industry and the type of funding. 🔹Only about 1 in 10 proposals (or 10%) are accepted, according to Professional Grant Writer (2021). Of course, grant success rates are very convoluted. Many factors in grant writing are beyond the writer’s control, so wins aren't always a true reflection of a grant writer’s skills or effectiveness. So, how do you enhance your chance of success? The key is setting an achievable target and creating a plan to get there. My advice is to focus on: 🔎 Identifying funders whose priorities align closely with your project. I absolutely love using the platform, Instrumentl for discovery.
