Integrated Dynamic Electron Solutions, Inc. (IDES) is a small, vibrant company that specializes in bringing time resolution to electron microscopy. IDES’ products use pulsed lasers, rapid beam deflection, and/or high-speed electronics integration to capture snapshots of nanomaterials in action. IDES’ systems are installed around the world and are used by physicists, materials scientists, and biologists to understand the dynamics of nanoscale systems.

As a scientist, the number one thing we want to do is great science. Well, here with my good friends and collaborators, we've done exactly that. Our new work out today in Science Magazine delivers a paradigm shift in how STEM imaging can be done to save dose and damage. I joyfully share the credit here with all my co-authors, but especially Jonathan Peters in Trinity College Dublin and Bryan Reed at Integrated Dynamic Electron Solutions, Inc. During my PhD I used to joke with my supervisor (Ana M Sanchez) that I hadn't published in Science or Nature yet. Well as of today I have done both!
