As the coronavirus pandemic has forced classes online, teachers have lost much of the in-person interaction so integral to classroom lectures. Physical cues used to check for understanding and to check if students are paying attention — such as the raising of hands, nodding of heads, and posture of students — are virtually nonexistent. Teachers have no way to gauge how well they are explaining a given concept and adjust their lecture accordingly. Intellecture makes it easy for teachers to deliver high-quality and impactful online lectures by providing a real-time understanding score and aggregating student questions by topic and importance. This idea and prototype won 1st place at the DeveloperWeek 2020 hackathon, one of the biggest hackathons in the nation "I typically feed off student reaction, and not being able to see everyone (since not everyone shares their video) means that I don’t get to see students nodding their heads or giving me confused looks." -Jeffrey Miller, Professor of Computer Science at USC Learning is the mode in which the next generation of society is nurtured — a severe limitation of the process has been prevalent and is in need of removal.
