There are so many challenges when budgeting for the new year. Some are predictable like forecasting contracts and property taxes, but others aren't so predictable, such as emergencies and leasing—and in some cases, even the owner needed to approve the budget. Our industry fellow, Lachlan MacQuarrie, discusses these challenges and more, and recommends early action to overcome them so your technology budgets can be more accurate. #budgeting #buildingtechnology #cre #commercialrealestate #assetmanager #propertymanager #smartbuildings #operationaltechnology #cybersecurity #buildingowners #opex
Visionary, influential leader with international oversight and experience in institutional real estate across operational, investment and development functions. Seeking next opportunity to add value.
I have joined Intelligent Buildings as an Industry Fellow, advising IB as well as sourcing business development for IB. During my conversations with clients and potential clients it has become clear to me that budget season and securing budget approval is a key challenge for many, and in particular, for new initiatives that introduce technology, address cyber risk or that outsource key elements of technology management in properties. I have pulled together some of my thoughts and observations into a short article that may help now (in budget season), or just as importantly, that might provide property and asset managers, or owners with a perspective of what is needed, or where to find help with building technology. Feel free to comment, share and debate, and if you are interested in understanding how Intelligent Buildings can help your building or portfolio technology journey please reach out to me. #budgeting #buildingtechnology #cre #commercialrealestate #assetmanager #propertymanager #smartbuildings #operationaltechnology #cybersecurity #buildingowners #opex
