Project Spotlight: City of San Antonio District 3 New Aquatic Center Estimated for completion in Spring of 2026, COSA District 3 is a community pool facility and recreational park in southeast San Antonio, where extensive public input was conducted prior to design. The design concept calls for fabric shade structures, meandering river pools, restrooms, and maintenance facilities. This project is being completed through the collaboration with the architects at Rialto Studio, Inc. . The concept also features a children’s pool, landscaped buffer, shaded seating, a park entry, parking lots, and landscaped areas. Project Spotlight: Schertz Aquatics Center Completed in August 2018, this facility sits 4 acres of land, and consists of a competition pool, leisure pool, splash pad, community spaces, locker rooms, and spectator seating. The project was a collaborative effort between the Schertz, Cibolo, and Universal City ISD as well as the city, and connects with the Schertz YMCA. IES provided a structural engineering service towards the aquatic center project with the prime project firm being Marmon Mok Architecture. Project Spotlight: Cibolo Nature Center/ Lende Learning Center Located in Boerne, Texas, the Cibolo Nature Center, also known as the Lende Learning Center, is a great blend of modern engineering and nature, that was brought forth by IES' structural engineering services. The center is over 9,500 square feet large, and features a multi-purpose recreational hall, educational area, exhibit space, reference library, technology center, GIS lab, and a wet-lab classroom.
