  • With profound sadness IOS has to report that the IOS founder and former CEO and Chairman of the IOS Board Dr. Reuben Sandler passed away on September 8, 2024. The following message was sent to the IOS staff: Dear Team,   It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of our cherished friend, Chairman and CEO, Dr. Reuben Sandler, who left us on Sunday.   Dr. Sandler was not only a visionary leader but also a beacon of optimism and kindness. I fondly recall how he would always begin our conversations with, "Tell me something good that happened today." His infectious positivity and genuine concern for others left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.   Reuben was a kind, generous, and humble friend to many. As we mourn this tremendous loss, let us honor his legacy by embracing his spirit of optimism and unwavering commitment to excellence. In the days leading up to his passing, I had the opportunity to speak with Reuben and his daughter, expressing my deep appreciation for the positive influence he had on me and on all of us at IOS. I take comfort in knowing he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren during this time.   In this difficult period, our deepest sympathies go out to his family and to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. We will cherish the memories and lessons he imparted and strive to continue his legacy of positive impact and innovation. A celebration of his life is being planned, and I will share more details as they become available.   With heartfelt condolences,   Joe Gerber

  • New Board Members: Intelligent Optical Systems (IOS) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.  At IOS’s April Shareholder’s meeting, Drs. Adele Goldberg and David Cullin were elected as Directors.  Dr. Goldberg has a long career in taking research results to the marketplace, including government and commercial clients worldwide, most famously as the founding CEO in 1988 of the only venture-capital backed spin out from the Xerox Corporation’s Palo Alto Research Center. For other startups, she has advised on leveraging government SBIR funding sources, similar to that on which IOS has relied. Dr. Cullin comes to the board after a 30 plus year career in US government and the commercial sector working in various roles but largely focused on the transition and commercialization of new technologies.  He has worked with numerous small businesses in pursuit of technology maturation and productization. “We are exceptionally pleased to add two people with such a great track record of experience to our Board of Directors said Reuben Sandler, Chairman and CEO of IOS.  David has worked in key government offices, has grown revenue within both small businesses and large business. He has established a successful track record of leading the commercializing of exciting new technologies like we are developing here at IOS.  Adele has previously worked with me on the University of Chicago Physical Sciences Division Dean’s Council to identify promising commercial opportunities for the University’s research results.”

  • MISAA/Tac-Assay can revolutionize transplant patient recovery and care.      Transplants require regular tests using a patient blood sample. The MISAA eLFA Tac-Assay requires only a fingerprick of blood and the test requires less skill, while the LC-MS method requires several mLs, promising unrivaled comfort, convenience, and care to the transplant recovery process. This reduces cost, makes the test more readily available, and is less painful for the patient.    Do your part by investing in MISAA today via Netcapital.  To learn more about MISAA, LLC/Tac-Assay, visit us at Tac-Assay.com, contact us at contact@misaallc.com or follow us on Facebook at https://lnkd.in/eFQ8YrYZ.

  • MISAA/Tac-Assay can revolutionize transplant patient recovery and care. Transplants require regular monitoring and testing. The revolutionary MISAA eLFA Tac-Assay will set a new standard of 15 minutes instead of the LC-MS 12 hours, promising unrivaled comfort, convenience, and care in the transplant recovery process. Reduced test time improves patient compliance and lowers the load on test facilities. Lower cost makes care more affordable. Do your part by investing in MISAA today via https://lnkd.in/gASiqSCb. • IOS has created a spinout, MISAA, LLC, to exploit its eLFA-based invitro diagnostic products. MISAA is focusing its effort on monitoring the level of tacrolimus in transplant recipients. These efforts have been funded to date by the US Army. This month IOS received a $1.3 million contract to continue these efforts and bring them through the FDA approval cycle. It is VERY EXCITING. MISAA, LLC. (www.misaallc.com), a subsidiary of Intelligent Optical Systems, Inc. (www.intopsys.com), are pleased to announce they have commenced the FDA certification process for the patent pending, tacrolimus immunosuppressant in vitro diagnostic, Tac-Assay. The tacrolimus enhanced Lateral Flow assay is a proprietary, simple, quantitative & low-cost test with the potential to be administered much like a blood glucose test. The MISSA Tac-Assay has proven to have the same sensitivity as the reference gold standard LC-MS method over the entire therapeutic range but takes only 15 minutes instead of 10+ hours. # transplant #nephrology #transformative #kidney
