The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle pioneers innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. We believe that hunger is unacceptable. Our programs empower people to meet their own food needs and grow a local food system that feeds everyone healthy, nutritious food. Since 1989, we have served children, adults, families and the elderly through proactive programs; moving beyond emergency food provision to sustainable, local solutions to food hardships. Yesterday was an amazing day. Hundreds of volunteers came together to pack supplies, food, water and much more for Western Carolina (including 10,000 first aid kits and 57,000 diapers). It was an honor for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to be a part of this project and we can't thank Duke Energy Corporation, the United Way of the Greater Triangle, the American Red Cross North Carolina, The No Woman, No Girl Initiative and the DIAPER BANK OF NORTH CAROLINA enough for their support. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's truck headed to Western Carolina today, fully packed and ready to help!

At the end of last month, Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm and impacted several states, including North Carolina. The devastation left behind will require months of recovery efforts. Last weekend, we hosted the first ever Food Shuttle Fest at our farm – and it was a huge success! Thank you to Feeding America for awarding the Food Shuttle a Network Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) grant. As part of Cohort 1, the Feeding America MEL Research Team helped us learn how to evaluate our Child Hunger Programs in Nash & Edgecombe. At our Food Shuttle Fest on Saturday, we were so excited to share our findings through our "Data Walk"!
