The water temperature might be a chilly 53 degrees, but that doesn't deter the surfers, swimmers, hikers and bikers who love this picturesque spot on the San Francisco coast: China Beach. If you've visited recently, you've noticed that the first phase of a multi-year rehabilitation project is now complete. Road and parking lot improvements, a strengthened retaining wall, and stormwater biotreatment basins are all in place. A new accessible overlook also offers stunning views of the water and Golden Gate Bridge. Sherwood has been proud to work on the restoration of this historic China Beach site alongside Architectural Resources Group, SWA, Interface Engineering, Inc., the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the National Park Service. As construction on the second phase kicks off this year, stay tuned for more updates about the renovation of the historic bath house and the promenade that links the beach with a plaza and picnic area. OZMA is our newest residential building in DC and crafting the interiors concept was a blast. From the moment residents enter, the space is meant to feel dreamlike and ethereal, with spaces embracing vivid colors and shifting geometry. Green “gem” tones are incorporated throughout, from vibrant and bright to deep and moody to create a dynamic, layered visual landscape. Thoughtfully sculpted architectural elements carve out cozy nooks, hallways are treated as portals to different areas of the world of OZMA.    Designed for Skanska, with great partners Interface Engineering, Inc., Tadjer Cohen Edelson Associates, Inc., Wiles Mensch, ParkerRodriguez, Inc., Bozzuto and many more. The Parnassus Central Campus Site Improvements (PCCSI) project at the University of California, San Francisco will create a new, welcoming "heart of campus" open space, and invite pedestrian connections. The #designbuild project will build upon UCSF's vision of the Comprehensive Parnassus Heights Plan by improving the central core of the campus in three distinct areas: - Extending utility infrastructure to support future development, improve energy efficiency, and emphasis on UCSF's fossil-fuel-free initiatives. - Seismic compliance with UCOP Policy: decanting and demolition of the School of Nursing building. - Creation of pedestrian connections to the campus heart by enhancing public outdoor space and providing opportunities in unique open areas to connect, pause, sit, and interact. The new corridor will be publicly available and improve pedestrian circulation, bridging the west end of campus and the campus heart.
