In honor of The Woodlands 50th Anniversary, Interfaith is asking for participation in a Community-Wide Food Drive during the month of October to support the growing needs of our neighbors. This year, Interfaith has seen record need in the Food Pantry, serving 40% more neighbors over 2023. Community partners and individuals, such as yourself, are encouraged to host a food drive or donate non-perishable food to Interfaith of The Woodlands on October 15, during the Drive Through Food Drive Collection to be hosted in Interfaith’s parking lot from 9am-4pm. Interfaith President and CEO, Missy Herndon joined Host Dick Schissler on Lone Star Community Radio to talk about the history and legacy of Interfaith of The Woodlands as well as the upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration of The Woodlands Township on Tuesday, October 15. 50th Anniversary festivities will kick off a week long celebration on Monday, October 14th with proclamations from state, regional and local officials, as well as a dedication of a time capsule to commemorate the historic milestone. The Day of Giving benefitting Interfaith of The Woodlands will be held on Tuesday, October 15th. Residents are encouraged to get involved and volunteer in the community or participate in a community-wide food drive in the Interfaith parking lot on Oct. 15th from 9 to 4 PM. Patriot Day is not only a day of remembrance but also a day to reflect on the resilience and unity that followed these unimaginable events. It highlights the strength of the human spirit in times of adversity. The selflessness of the incredible first responders, volunteers, and individuals who rushed in to help that day and the weeks following is a testament to the power of compassion and community. September is Hunger Action Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about food insecurity and mobilizing efforts to combat hunger. Each year, millions of people face the daily struggle of not having enough to eat, which affects their health, education, and overall well-being. This month, Interfaith would love for you to contribute to Interfaith Food Pantry if you are able. Together we can fight food insecurity in our community!

In honor of Labor Day, our office will be closed on Monday, September 2nd. We take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of all those who contribute to our mission. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 3rd.

On behalf of all of us at Interfaith, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you everyone who attended The Walk 2024! Thanks to your generosity we were able to raise critical funds that will aid in serving our neighbors in crisis going into our busiest season. As you saw, we experienced a technological glitch in our giving system during the Call to Action portion of our event. As a result, we were unable to capture roughly half of the donations made that evening. Without this funding, we simply will not be able to serve our neighbors in the same capacity in September and October.
