Building a more loving and caring community through service.

About us

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area. What began as a dream of Mr. George P. Mitchell, founder and original developer of The Woodlands, flourished into a reality and is helping thousands of individuals and families each year. Today, Interfaith’s mission continues to be based on Mr. Mitchell’s vision and Interfaith’s ongoing commitment to making a difference and being a multi-faceted community resource. Initially, Interfaith acts as an “incubator” for community social services and as a “support” for new congregations. Interfaith helps individuals and families in crisis through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, gasoline, prescription drug assistance, emergency shelter, food, clothing, senior programs and offers counseling, job training, and child care. True to its mission, Interfaith works with member congregations, corporations, local businesses, individuals, nonprofits and organizations acting as a community resource and building a more loving and caring community.

  • Interfaith of The Woodlands and Interfaith Community Clinic were proud to support the Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health luncheon on Friday, October 25th. This inspiring event brought together community members to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer and ovarian cancer research, education and prevention. We are grateful for our partnership with Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health that allows Interfaith Community Clinic to offer mammograms to uninsured women in our community. 🩷 #YourCommunityClinic #InterfaithCares #BreastCancerAwareness #inthepink Memorial Healthcare Group

Today, the Bluebonnet ExxonMobil Retiree Club spent a beautiful morning volunteering at Veggie Village Garden. The team rolled up their sleeves to work in the garden and put in new mulch for the garden beds. Veggie Village Garden serves as a vital resource, offering fresh fruits and vegetables to support Interfaith Food Pantry. By volunteering, ExxonMobil employees not only supported this essential program but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of Veggie Village Garden and the role it plays in our community.

  • It was an amazing week of GIVING in celebration of The Woodlands' 50th Anniversary! The Day of Giving Community Food Drive collected over 9,000 pounds of food for the Interfaith Food Pantry. A sincere thank you to all the community members, groups, and organizations that participated. If you missed the chance to contribute, Interfaith will continue collecting food through the end of the year, aiming for a total of 50,000 pounds. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated and will be generously matched by Rob and Christine Johnson, up to $10,000. We are truly grateful for this wonderful community and look forward to the next 50 years of serving our neighbors. Give here: https://lnkd.in/gw7Rq2g7

  • Today marked a wonderful kickoff to The Woodlands' 50th Anniversary! Interfaith was privileged to participate in the ceremony, with President and CEO Missy Herndon placing Interfaith’s contribution into the Time Capsule. Over 50 years ago, George Mitchell, the founder of The Woodlands, established Interfaith of The Woodlands to build a more loving and caring community. Today, we believe that “neighbors helping neighbors” is one of the many extraordinary aspects of our community. We hope this spirit continues to thrive, so that in 50 years, our children and grandchildren will also cherish the value of Loving Your Neighbor. Let us always remember that it is the PEOPLE who truly make our Community special. ❤️
