Day 2 of the Italy #Biochar Study Tour was a fantastic finish to the educational event demonstrating biochar's impact in Italian agriculture! 👏 Scientists and experts from C.N.R. Istitute of Bioeconomy - I.B.E spent the day with attendees, sharing innovative applications of biochar in vineyard soil at Felsina Farm and BADIA A COLTIBUONO. The day began with precision viticulture's introduction of new technologies like drones for supporting vineyard management with Salvatore Filippo Di Gennaro and Andrea Berton. Next, a deep-dive into soil science on site with Silvia Baronti, Fabio Castaldi, and Fabrizio Ungaro to develop an understanding of biochar, #soil, and #viticulture, soil spectroscopy, and more. Roberto Stucchi Prinetti provided an incredible insight into the historic Italian tradition of grape growing and winemaking — a beautiful cultural addition to a day of learning. Thanks to our partners at ICHAR 🇮🇹 for creating an incredible program for attendees rooted in local #biochar technology, vineyard soil science, agricultural innovation, and successful case studies.
