It was a rare opportunity for me to attend the Nigeria’s AgBiotech Stakeholders Roundtable with the Gates Foundation Leadership and Dangote in attendance. I was super excited. The high-impact event brought together global and local leaders in agriculture and biotechnology to chart a course for sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria. The roundtable featured prominent figures, including Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote, who emphasized the need for innovative solutions to enhance food security and productivity. Other key stakeholders in attendance included but not limited to Dr. Gidado Rose, Director of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology NBRDA, Dr. Sylvester Oikeh, Manager TELA Maize Project, African Agricultural Technology Foundation( AATF), Nairobi, Kingsley Uzoma, Senior Special Assistant to the President on AgriBusiness and Productivity Enhancement; Prof. Johnson Onyibe, Vice Chairman of Eco Basic; Ayodeji Balogun, CEO of AFEX; Karumanchi Prasad, Chairman and Founder of Prasad Seed, India; Yusuf Kibiya, Chairman of the seed Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria; Dr Ayoola Oduntan, Group Managing Director, Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Ltd; Bello Maccido, Board Chairman Babban Gona; Natalia Voruz, CEO and President of Remington Seed; Ayodele Kayode and Market Development Representatives for Bayer Nigeria.
