"There may be no more dangerous phrase in business than 'the new normal,'" writes David Garfield for Harvard Business Review. "It implies, some kind of equilibrium, the notion that we can find and stay in a place where things are safe and balanced, where the earth won't suddenly shift beneath us and send our premises and plans tumbling down. " "That's what people think is happening with supply chains - and it's a mistake." Supply chains belong at the top of a CEO's agenda. We cannot agree more. Supply chains are fraught with vulnerabilities across cyber attacks, ESG compliance, catastrophic events, financial risks, geopolitical tensions and government restrictions. Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Hezbollah device explosions, looming Labor strikes, the Crowdstrike outage and the recent addition of restricted entities by the U.S. Department of State, put this in stark perspective. These disruptions are frequent. And the implications are grave. Interos data shows each of these supply chain disruptions has the potential to impact millions of companies in the extended supply chain. The average enterprise experiences $100 million in annual losses from supply chain disruptions. In the era of disruption, supply chains require proactive management. Supply chain disruptions are more than a procurement team’s focus. They belong in the boardrooms. #scrm #supplychain #riskmanagement
