Now, Brandon Sines, the mastermind behind Frank Ape, steps into the spotlight to share his playful work and artistic journey. Who is Frank Ape? Frank Ape is a magical sasquatch. He was created over 10 years ago in NYC as street art, using wheat pasting and stickers - and now he is known throughout the world. What inspired you to bring Frank Ape to life? As a visual artist, I channel my experiences into art. In 2011, I created an ape-like character who feels deeply but struggles to express himself, what started as a personal reflection has evolved into something that resonates with others. How does the canvas of New York City inspire Frank Ape’s story? New York constantly inspires me—the people, the energy, and its ever-changing nature. Frank was born from this energy, tough yet gentle and always learning to navigate the world. How does #ArtOnLink align with your artistic vision and goals? My goal is to connect with as many people as possible, and #ArtOnLink is the perfect platform for that. If it brightens just one person’s day, I’ve succeeded. What sets this #ArtOnLink collaboration apart from your past projects? Having my art displayed on nearly 4,000 screens across the city adds a dynamic element that most of my other projects can’t achieve. What's your favorite thing about seeing Frank Ape in public spaces? I love seeing people of all ages engage with the Franks they encounter. Frank is that friendly face that helps people celebrate the magic of life. What's next for Frank Ape? Big things are on the horizon: exciting brand collaborations, my new book “There’s Magic Inside All of Us”, and an animated show—Frank’s journey is just beginning!
