Earlier this year, IE's Director of Impact Diandra Marizet Esparza had the opportunity to speak at a Public Rally at NARUC, a conference funded by the fossil fuel industry where state regulators gather to make decisions about how much you’ll pay on your energy bill and what utility options are available. Spaces like these need #ClimateJustice voices to ensure that we have a say in the future we want to build. ✨ An IE Contributor Spotlight ✨ These past few weeks, Adina Farinango donated precious artivism hours to support IE's efforts to educate + inspire our growing community. Adina is a Kichwa-Otavalo artist who uses her work as a form of resistance, healing, and self-expression. Through her art, she embraces her identity as an Indigenous woman within the Kichwa diaspora. Drawing heavily from the resilience and strength of matriarchs in her community—past , present and future—she aims to Indigenize spaces, focusing on reclaiming them through a matriarchal perspective. She is currently based in NYC (Lenapehoking). Check out some of her beautiful work on the IE platform that reached over 100k community members in just a few short days!

The climate crisis is terrifying. We’re all constantly dealing with the anxiety of that reality. In my struggles with climate anxiety, I’ve come to find that the only thing that really helps is taking action. But how do we take action on a problem that feels so big? The good news is that taking action locally can actually have dramatic positive impacts. Which is where the Intersectional Environmentalist Database comes in. We’ve compiled a central hub for 500+ incredible grassroots environmental justice organizations across the US. You can search by location, cause, identity, and topic to find organizations fighting for everything from environmental justice in frontline communities to sustainable solutions led by Indigenous voices. Please check it out, donate your time or resources to a cause you care about, and tackle those feelings of doom with hope directly from the people around you! What orgs should we add next? #Intersectionalenvironmentalism #volunteer #Empowerment #EJforAll #Local #ClimateJustice #Grassroots #Changemaker #Sustainable #CommunityCare #environmentalism #connection

Last month, IE Executive Director Diandra Marizet Esparza had the opportunity to visit Penn State University to speak to students and faculty about climate justice and what students on campus are already doing to support an intersectional environmentalist future. Educating and inspiring action towards #climatejustice is huge pillar of our work - if you’d like to feature an IE speaker, visit our website to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eaxEGatf

Your weekend podacst listen is now live! 😎 The KEEN team and IE have been thinking about CLIMATE FUNDING! This episode of 'The Joy Report', we worked together to explore one of the most significant pieces of legislation that US Congress has taken on behalf of clean energy and climate change. What is it? How exactly is it supporting the work of grassroots organizations - if at all? 💵 🔍👀 Check out our first ever episode exploring climate funding as we hear Arielle King take a magnifying lens to funding mechanisms that drive BILLIONS of dollars towards emerging solutions in climate justice work, and where we go from here.
