Moments before every job interview Are you looking for a job, but you keep bombing your job interviews? Here are 4 things you are doing wrong.   4- A great interview begins with your interview prep. When you prepare for job interviews are you spending a lot of time researching the company? The company knows that information, they don’t need you to recite their mission or their 4th quarter numbers. They are going to ask you a bunch of questions about YOU. Spend the majority of your interview prep deepening your self knowledge.   3- Do you have a script in interviews? If so, you probably sound like a robot. Lighten up and speak from the heart.   2- Do you tell them what they want to hear? Recruiters and hiring managers have a great bs detectors. If you are just agreeing with them, being too accommodating and not being honest it will be a red flag.   1-Are you overqualified for the jobs that you are applying for? f you are looking for a job, you need to check this out! Only 10 states in the US have pay transparency laws, which means companies have to disclose the pay on the job description. Here’s a helpful resource to see if your state is one of them and don’t forget to check your city as well some areas have local laws; Pennsylvania doesn’t have a salary transparency law but Philadelphia does have a salary history ban which means it’s legal to post a job without disclosing the pay in Pennsylvania but if you hire/recruit in Philadelphia you CANNOT ask a candidate what they are currently making. #howtohire #hrtips #salarytransparency #jobinterview
