The independence of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) continues to be threatened globally. This raises concerns for accountability and democracy for SAIs and stakeholders alike. INTOSAI and IDI are committed to defending SAI independence, as outlined in the Mexico Declaration's eight pillars. 🚨 In Sierra Leone, the recent removal of the Auditor General and Deputy Auditor General underscores an independence challenge faced by SAIs.
