Widely available and easily customizable, allergen cards or “Chef Cards” are a MUST for folks with food allergies looking for the most straightforward way to advocate for their needs in a restaurant environment. So, what are the benefits of carrying allergen cards? ✨ Share the same crucial information reliably every time ✨ Remove the “telephone effect”, where information shared with a server can get distorted by the time it gets to the chef ✨ Be understood - even in languages you do not speak - with included translations ✨ Can be obtained free of cost, convenient to carry, and make self-advocacy easier So, how can folks with food allergies find chef cards? Several great groups within the food allergy space like Equal Eats and FARE have created FREE printable cards, but more customizable card options can easily be found on sites like Etsy and Amazon - just search “Food Allergy Chef Cards”!
