The Electrical Safety Foundation reports that more than 3,300 home fires originate from power strips and extension cords each year. 🔌 Only use power strips for low-voltage electronics. 🔌 If a power strip is hot to the touch, unplug it immediately. 🔌 Keep power strips uncovered for proper air circulation. #FirePreventionWeek 🔥

It’s #FirePreventionWeek! 🔥 Follow along all week as we share ways you can avoid electrical fires at home. 🔌 Prevent electrical fires by ALWAYS plugging major appliances, like stoves, washers and dryers, directly into the wall. NEVER use an extension cord for these appliances as it can easily overheat and catch fire.
