If you're passionate about commercial vehicles, ground vehicle autonomy, and/or decision making under uncertainty, please consider submitting your work to this special issue. My colleague Lin Li and I have several solid papers lined up and we need a few more to complete the issue. Even if you have a topic but haven't made much progress on the manuscript, we'd still love to hear from you. Ben Duprey - ben.duprey@ipg-automotive.com
Upcoming deadline: #callforpapers for Focus Issue on Automated Vehicles (AV)/Highly Automated Vehicles (HAV): Decision Making under Uncertainty Automated Vehicles, Highly Automated Vehicles, and their associated technologies are fundamentally changing not just how society views transportation, but how corporations big and small view and plan for their own future. Whether it be large-scale deployments of robotaxis in urban settings, long-haul trucking for major carriers, or societal concerns regarding safety and the risk of bias built into model training, there is no escaping the fact that AV and HAV technologies are with us and will be for the foreseeable future. This issue of the SAE International Journal of Commercial Vehicles is seeking research on topics related to: ◾ Agricultural robotics, on-road commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, and mining ◾ Decision-making techniques and methodologies for navigation, target identification, and collision avoidance ◾ Drive-by-wire and related control technologies ◾ Game-theoretic and multiagent approaches to coordination and control ◾ Obstacle detection and avoidance ◾ Optimization techniques to minimize fuel consumption ◾ Path / trajectory planning ◾ Platooning vehicle interaction with non AV/HAV players ◾ Sensor parameterization for autonomous vehicle perception ◾ Testing and safety standards for ground vehicle robotics Submit your research by November 30, 2024 More information available here: https://sae.to/47m8R5a Guest Editors: Benjamin Duprey (IPG Automotive, USA); Lin Li (Nikola Motors, USA) #commercialvehicle #research #automatedvehicles
