KRIS CRAMER, CPM® -- Venture One Real Estate I had a fantastic experience at the 2025 #IREM Global Summit in Indianapolis, featuring outstanding speakers, valuable volunteer ideas, and great networking opportunities. I was honored to participate in the 2025 Strategy Session for the chapter's upcoming goals and am very excited about what's ahead for next year. A standout speaker was Maria Pietroforte, CPM, NAAEI Faculty, who addressed "Shattering the Silence" and the importance of mental health advocacy in the workplace. She highlighted the stigma surrounding behavioral and mental health, noting that up to 80% of people may experience mental health conditions in their lifetime, often without realizing it. Alarmingly, nearly 60% of employees have never discussed their mental health status at work due to fears of being out of place or missing opportunities. Maria emphasized the need to protect employees from burnout, long hours, and toxic environments, as these factors can lead to lower productivity, decreased engagement, higher turnover, and increased healthcare costs. To foster awareness, she suggested creating quiet spaces for relaxation, training managers to recognize signs of stress, and offering Employee Assistance Programs. Ultimately, Maria urged a cultural shift to encourage open discussions about mental health, stating, “Many people suffer alone because we are made to feel as if it shouldn’t be talked about—let’s make that change!” #IREMchicago #IREM #powerofpurpose #managetomakeadifference

Ian Novak, CPM -- 2024 IREM CHICAGO CHAPTER PRESIDENT I had the privilege of attending this year’s #IREM Global Summit which was held in Indianapolis, IN! The Chicago Chapter was well represented by Kristen Sarkisian, ARM® and CPM®, Kimberly Sisney, CPM, Stephen Schimmel CPM, Kurstie Butcher, CPM® ARM®, Kris Cramer, Katherine Feehan, Tim Kramer, CPM®, ARM®, and, of course, Teri Lind. Teri once again had the opportunity to present nationally to all of the chapter’s IEA’s and our 2025 Chapter President, Kristen Sarkisian led a robust 2025 Strategy Session when goals and objectives were identified for the upcoming year. Our Chapter also had the opportunity to meet with our fellow Region 9 members from MN and WI. While there I listened to speakers who each left me with a golden nugget to take back home: ▶Cale Prokopf, RRO, REWO’s “Roofing trends, products and systems in 2024” provided valuable insights into the latest developments in the roofing industry including the aged old reminder that preventative maintenance is key to any roofing system. ▶Shannon Alter, CPM’s “Be Influential” reminded us to simply breathe in order to be more confident, comfortable and poised in any meeting, conversation or presentation. ▶Finally, IREM held an extremely informative State of the Industry event that had multiple panels reporting on an array of topics such as Creating efficiency through automation, NOI positive sustainability and Adaptive reuse projects. Education, Collaboration, and Networking for three days in an absolute gem of a city. Thank you IREM for the opportunity to participate! #IREMchicago #IREM #powerofpurpose #managetomakeadifference

IREM GLOBAL SUMMIT 🌎 A time to Reconnect, Renew & Re-evaluate. 🌎 Here's a recap from our 2025 IREM Chicago Chapter President, Kristen Sarkisian, ARM® and CPM® -- "Attending the final #IREM Global Summit in Indianapolis was both bittersweet and rewarding. Our Board of Directors spent time networking with fellow chapters, attending educational courses and the, always wonderful, IREM Gala. The IREM Global Summit provides our Board and invited members with valued continued education and new programming. Some events hosted this year included sessions about the future of AI and it’s impact on our industry and how to put your best foot forward in presentations. Remember the 4 C’s: content, confidence, credibility, and charisma. IREM Chicago would also like to note that we donated an additional $5,000 to the IREM Foundation while attending the Global Summit. The IREM Foundation provides scholarships and grants to its members and chapters so they can put their best foot forward. This year, we dedicated time to meet as a board and complete our 2025 strategic plan. We evaluated our educational and networking program from 2024 and discussed best practices and goals for the 2025 year. We will make a more formal announcement for all the things of 2025 to come, but some key takeaways are: 🔑 We will continue to choose a charity to dedicate monetary donations and our time to. 🔑We will host both educational and social quarterly meetings - we’re changing it up again this year! 🔑We will focus on membership and continue to push our membership numbers by updating our Industry Partner incentive program. 🔑We plan to evenly distribute our events between the suburbs and downtown. We look forward to 2025 and beyond." Check out all the pictures of the event. 📸: https://lnkd.in/g9rGJ5En Do you have more photos? Send them to us for the gallery: admin@iremchicago.org
