Last week the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, University of Galway team welcomed the Irish American Partnership Board to campus. They visited with Dr. Pat Dolan and team to hear about the strategic growth and development of the Activating Social Empathy education programme made possible through their generous support.
The Partnership delegation enjoyed an uplifting second day of the Leadership Mission, beginning with meetings hosted at Fidelity Investments Ireland's beautiful campus in Galway. There we heard of the tremendous reach and impact of the Western Seaboard Science Project in counties Clare and Kerry, with thanks to Dublin City University. Fastrack into Information Technology (FIT) CEO Peter Davitt also presented on the FIT programs of tech apprenticeships, training, and industry mentorship benefiting job seekers across the island. From there it was a short journey to visit Dr. Pat Dolan and team at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, University of Galway to hear about the strategic growth and development of the Activating Social Empathy education program. Finally, we were honored to visit Atlantic Technological University Mayo campus in Castlebar for the first time. We were welcomed to the campus by Dr. Orla Flynn where Partnership leaders presented a grant for their access and widening participation program. #investinginirelandsfuture #impactgiving #philanthropy

The sun shone on our delegation once again for the third day of the Irish American Partnership 2024 Leadership Mission in counties Galway and Mayo. The teachers, students, and parents of St. Muredach's College in Ballina gave us a tremendous welcome with particular thanks to their wonderful musicians and principal Wayne Walsh. From there we crossed the River Moy to hear about the wonderful plans and community initiatives at The Mary Robinson Centre. Our friend and Mayo County Councillor Mark Duffy took us on a tour of the Great Convent Revival project - an ambitious reimagining of the closed Convent of the Immaculate Conception, All Hallows. which will consist of a return of the old chapel, the creation of a museum space, and a space for artists, music, and community. #investinginirelandsfuture #impactgiving #philanthropy

Day one of the Irish American Partnership's 2024 Leadership Mission is complete! Our U.S. and Irish delegation spent an inspiring day traveling the Wild Atlantic Way through Connemara to meet the pupils and teachers at Ardmore National School, Carna, and Scoil Cholmáin, Muighinis. After a wonderful visit with Liz McConnell, Conor Coyne and members of the Benedictine community at Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens, we headed to Druid Theatre Company, Galway, where we met with Jay Perry, Anneliese Davidsen, Siomha Nee, and members of the FUEL artists-in-residency program. #investinginirelandsfuture #impactgiving #philanthropy

Kylemore Abbey was honoured to welcome the Irish American Partnership to the estate for the first time yesterday. The Irish American Partnership has been a tremendous support to Kylemore Abbey and its development efforts in the U.S. over the years. During their visit, the group toured the estate and the newly opened Monastery, Retreat, and Education Centre. The group met with members of the Benedictine Community, as well as CEO Conor Coyne, Executive Director of the Kylemore Trust, Liz McConnell and spoke with Head Gardener, Anja Gohlke and Biodiversity Officer, Inez Streefkerk. Kylemore Abbey looks forward to continuing working alongside the Irish American Partnership in the future, honouring the Irish-American connection and heritage.
