Last week, our 9th graders visited the North Carolina Zoo, William Peace University, and the NC capitol and legislative buildings! We live in an age of digital classrooms and livestream learning. The Middle School Conference Championship game will be against American Leadership Academy, and played at East Clayton Community Park, 1774 Glen Laurel Road, Clayton, NC 27527. Yes, this is the same place that we defeated the team from Neuse Charter in the semi-finals last Friday! There is a 4pm start time for this game on Thursday, October 17th.

Our Strategy Club is in full swing! Every Wednesday after school, students sharpen their minds and learn to play chess with Mr. Scanlan. From mastering opening moves to planning out strategies, these young men are building critical thinking skills while having a blast!

Coach Mitchell's 9th grade PE class recently learned how to track their heart rates after different types of workouts. For strength workouts, they used bodyweight exercises and resistance bands to train the muscles they'll be targeting. They also learned that what, and how much, they eat right before they work out definitely affects them—especially on cardio days!
