Recently, I have been approached about asssiting on several potential projects involving start-up companies in either the "concept/feasibility" or the "design & development" phase of medical device product development. This is my basic advice to such "idea-rich/cash-poor" establishments of ten or fewer FT employees and at least that many "seasoned advisors" - navigate this website first: https://lnkd.in/ddYqRfeW. Use the resources paid for by your tax dollars. Then, we can have a conversation using the same terminology, wasting neither your time nor your limited financial resources. In my experience, FDA truly does want to help you to translate your brilliant ideas into products delivered into the hands of clinicians in the service of their patients. In brief: do your homework.

Compliance with Stage 2 (Labeling, Registration/Listing, Investigational Use) of the LDT Rule is required by May 6, 2026. The FDA has clear expectations for labeling for LDTs. Don't assume that you do not need to worry about labeling if your products are on the market before May 6, 2024. Take another look at the requirements - Plan accordingly 📑💡 #FDA #LDT #Compliance #Labeling #Regulations #Manufacturers #altaQ #LDTrule

Another interesting blog post from David Kern at K2 Regulatory Consulting with reference to kitted and single-site NGS IVD assays.
Grab your foulies, reef the main, and batten down the hatches. There are storm clouds on the horizon in my latest blog. https://lnkd.in/eaaGDVFm
