Last weekend, we closed out the World Championship season with Taupō playing host to the 18th edition of the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. This stunning lake town of New Zealand’s North Island welcomed approximately 6,000 registered athletes to its shores. 💙'Tuituia’, which is a Māori word meaning ‘Bound Together in Unity’ represented this race perfectly with athletes from 119 countries, regions and territories coming together 💙Taupō is a small town of 27,000 who welcomed 20,000 athletes and supporters with open arms 💙Over 2,000 volunteers (1 in 10 Taupō residents!) dedicated their time, energy, and enthusiasm to the #IM703WC last week Congratulations to Taylor Knibb(USA) and Jelle Geens(BEL) for becoming IRONMAN 70.3 World Champions🏆 and all athletes who have crossed that finish line. This race was a culmination of months, perhaps years, of training, and for many, the apotheosis of their own personal journey to the start line. To all our volunteers, we are so grateful for all of you. From the very start at check-in, to catching you at the finish line, the manaakitanga and unwavering support shown to our athletes was truly incredible. ⁣ Thank you Taupō for the love and hospitality. Three-time IRONMAN® World Champion and former Kona® course best holder, Craig “Crowie” Alexander, is joining the IRONMAN U team as a Master Coach. “IRONMAN U provides vital continuing education to devoted triathlon coaches around the globe. I’m thrilled to be named an IRONMAN U Master Coach and look forward to providing ongoing educational support to coaches and athletes in the triathlon community," said Alexander. “It’s an honor to contribute to the program that’s recognized as the gold standard of coaching certification in triathlon,” stated Alexander. “Triathletes looking to take their skills to the next level can have confidence in hiring an IRONMAN U certified coach.” In addition to his IRONMAN world titles, Alexander is also a two-time IRONMAN® 70.3® World Champion (2006, 2011) and 12-time Australian national crown winner. During his 25 years as a professional, Crowie logged more than 100 victories. IRONMAN U has recently released a freshly updated IRONMAN U Certification Course in collaboration with and hosted by TriDot, the Official Training Platform of IRONMAN. This is a project Craig Alexander and fellow IRONMAN U Master Coaches Mark Allen and Michellie Jones have played a major role in developing. Through the lens of the Men's 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii🌺 On Saturday October 26, nearly 2,400 male athletes took to the iconic Big Island of Hawai'i as they competed in the pinnacle event of triathlon. The day saw not only the best triathletes from around the world compete, but also a culmination of some amazing athlete journeys. Congratulations to Patrick Lange from Germany for his third IRONMAN World Championship title, and to all finishers!

The IRONMAN Group is pleased to add Yanni Andreopoulos as Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships. With strong commercial and operating skills, Andreopoulos will lead and oversee all aspects of the Global Partnerships business, including sales, business intelligence, partnership management and activations, in addition to content distribution. Developing unique skills throughout his 20 years in the sports industry from global organizations to groundbreaking startups, Andreopoulos has strong experience in building and managing teams, securing partnerships, and delivering growth for sporting organizations.    Andreopoulos joins The IRONMAN Group after successful leadership positions at ABB FIA Formula E where he oversaw the commercial division (sponsorship, partnerships, ticketing, hospitality and licensing) and AEG, where he managed NBA, NHL, ATP, UFC and Euroleague Basketball events at AEG venues in Europe as well as the AMGEN Tour of California. Andreopoulos was a partner at Icarus Sports, growing and developing the production and distribution agency, and co-founded the FIM E-Xplorer and E1 World Electric Raceboat Series for which he secured funding, recruited management teams, negotiated founding partnerships and host venue agreements. “Yanni is well known across the sporting industry, is highly experienced, and will be a significant contributor to our organization and senior leadership team,” said Matthieu Van Veen, Chief Business Officer for The IRONMAN Group. “Yanni brings true global leadership working with multinational and cross-functional teams towards growing international sports properties, with a particular emphasis on forging powerful partnerships and leading innovative strategies for positive change that will connect and benefit our global community of athletes and partners.”
