Our Values - Irving Cares will: • provide clients with services in a respectful and dignified manner without regard to race, color, gender, age, disability, religion or national origin • partnering with clients in developing solutions that lead to self-sufficiency • working with other agencies and organizations for greater impact and effectiveness • assuring donors and supporters of exemplary management History Irving Cares was organized in 1957 by citizens who were interested in the welfare of the needy people in the community. Since 2001, Irving Cares has achieved United Way’s #1 stewardship rating for fiduciary management and board oversight. In 2005, Irving Cares received the City of Irving’s Housing & Human Services Department Award for Outstanding Community Partner. Charity Navigator announced again in 2016 that Irving Cares earned a 4-star rating. This ‘exceptional’ rating indicates Irving Cares outperforms most charities in operating in the most fiscally responsible way possible.
