𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 We talk a lot about the extreme durability of real leather and its ability to last for generations. But what makes this natural material so durable? As with most things natural – it was made that way with purpose. A cattle hide’s only purpose is to protect and endure. As hides are tanned into leather, they transfer all that strength into everyday items like purses, couches, shoes, car seats and more. Whatever blueprint designed this spectacular material did so with durability as its primary goal. Toughness is literally in its DNA and cellular structure. Leather generates its durability from its dense fiber structure – the primary foundation of its strength. As with most things – nature gets it right! This unique cellular structure, through evolution, has been on a continuous improvement journey for thousands and thousands of years. And while we can now study the structure under a microscope, we simply cannot duplicate it with man-made materials. Leather’s uniquely refined structure provides durability and flexibility to fight all elements, protecting its users as it protected cattle everyday in fields across the world. Learn more about what durability of real leather really looks like in this interesting overview from leather retailer Andar (link in the comments!). Real leather - naturally designed to last a lifetime! #leather #durability #natural #sustainability

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 Did you ever wonder where the greenwashing started? It couldn’t be clearer if you look at the list of Top 100 Companies from Sustainability Mag of 2023 (link in comments). These are the “Best of the Best?” Or are these the companies that benefit the most from Greenwashing and selling their story of sustainability? Most on this list are electric companies (and where does that energy come from...mining for minerals, pumping oil, or still mining for coal!) and the rest all sell PLASTIC or need OIL to run! Let’s evaluate Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Unilever: ⚫ Schneider Electric and Siemens, two of the largest electric-based companies in the world, are praised for empowering all to make the most out of our energy and resources. Isn't it funny that the top sustainability companies are focused on electric? Governments and Retailers are trying to push EVs as sustainable saviors (although they are catastrophically failing in the market), but no one really looks behind the curtains and evaluates the total impact on the environment. It takes massive amounts of petroleum to make these electric vehicles - as the batteries, wire casings, computer hardware, electrical housing, interiors and more - all are made of PLASTIC. Isn't it odd that we simply took petroleum out of the vehicle only to hide it behind the scenes in electric products and services? ⚫ Here’s a sneaky one on the list - Unilever? What a joke! Look at one of their largest brands: Dove Soap. Using Mineral oil as one of their ingredients, disguised under the name "paraffinum liquidium" that helps to deeply moisturize the skin as they say. Guess where mineral oil is derived from? You guessed it: Petroleum. Instead of washing with a clean white bar of soap – did you know you’re really bathing and hydrating with black oil? In 2020, over 100 million Americans used Dove soap. Think of the amount of petroleum needed to support those daily cleanings. Again - we take petroleum out of the hands of consumers in the form of gasoline, simply to use it in clandestine ways that the consumers ingest and put ONTO THEIR SKIN, and hope they are none the wiser as the petroleum companies laugh all the way to the bank! This list is proof positive that the greenwashed “Sustainability” industry is a deceptive profit machine for big oil. We demonize the use of gasoline and rev everyone up to shift to EVs to save the planet from Big Oil. But, ultimately Big Oil is laughing all the way to the bank! It’s never been more important to look beyond the headlines. Search beyond what you are being told. Consumers are simply being used as pawns in a global profit game called “Greenwashing” – and even the soap they are pushing actually hurts us and the environment! #sustainability #plastic #petroleum

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐌'𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 You are only as good as your word, and for General Motors right now, that is not saying much. This latest so-called "error" seems like it could have been a strategic mistake. And when you are comfortable stretching the truth for profit, where does it end? Obviously, with your customers being lied to and sitting on plastic seats! #sustainability #truth #truthinmarketing #GM

𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙎𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 🍄 Don’t put away that umbrella just yet! General Motors now showered us in the greenwash of magical mushrooms. Anyone buying this latest round of virtuous nonsense needs to put the psilocybin away and get re-grounded in reality! The Cadillac EV Concept SOLLEI vehicle is being lauded as the “first” automotive interior made of “mushroom leather.” Let’s clarify a few key points in this FUNGUS FABLE: 1) The SOLLEI EV interior is almost all real leather - beautiful handcrafted Nappa Leather by one of the world’s finest automotive leather suppliers. 2) Only about 1.5 sq. meters of MycoWorks “Fine Mycelium” is used in this vehicle, hidden on the inside of a door map pocket and on the face of a charging pad. 3) SURPRISE – GM owns a stake in MycoWorks, and just like all the other billions of misplaced investments the management team has made over the last decade (all EV by 2035…but future models, plants, and technology have all been delayed and 1,000 software engineers fired) GM needs to greenwash its way to recouping investment on this venture. So, GM will spend millions on publicity to talk about 1.5 sq. meter of mushroom leather – but completely ignore the opportunity to celebrate all of the true attributes of real leather (durability, sustainability, luxury). Well, we all know that doesn’t suit their narrative. It’s unfortunate, because as they continue to cast billions away on false social “virtue” strategies, they move farther and farther away from what their consumers actually want… and that will not have a good ending. #sustainability #leather #automotive #ev #mycelium

𝙇𝙪𝙭𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 Leather exudes luxury, but that doesn’t mean it has to be expensive. Often, we see luxury leather goods with extraordinary price tags, but that can be misleading as to the true cost of leather. Most times when we buy so-called “Top End” fashions the most expensive part of the purchase is for the brand name itself - not the material it's made of. You don’t have to pay thousands for quality leather goods. Sure, it will be more expensive than cheap fake alternatives, but the quality and durability of real leather is still quite affordable!
