Being a mission-driven company, means living out the values we aspire others to infuse into their business dealings. While popping out of Clinton Global Initiative sessions to grab a quick coffee, we got to discussing the wild world of #ESG and #DoubleMateriality. Next thing you know, we were navigating the streets to attend a Morningstar Sustainalytics session at #ClimateWeekNYC...and no more than two weeks later, we found a way to bring team members online - from across timezones, to continue our exploration. 💡Last week, our Senior Sustainability Consultant, Constanze D., shared valuable insights on navigating ESRS-aligned double materiality assessments at the Labrador ESG Client forum. Key topics discussed were: ✅ Proactive risk management ✅ Implementation challenges ✅ Compliance and greenwashing ✅ Objectivity and context Our key recommendation: Sustainability professionals should embrace the tension when identified IROs clash with a company's strategic direction. 🌍 Our Environ Energy Team was active during #ClimateWeekNYC! Nancy Mancilla attended the Clinton Global Initiative, discussing impactful changes with leaders from various sectors. Later, she and Jeff Hogan presented at the Building Energy Exchange's Net-Zero Networking Event. Lauren Anderson, ISSP-SEA, ACSAP explored updates from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), while others attended Morningstar Sustainalytics on financing low carbon transitions.
