About us
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is the largest society in the world dedicated to the advancement of responsible stem cell research - a field that strives to advance scientific understanding, treatments, and cures that better human health. We foster junior scientists, give voice and visibility to scientific advancement, and encourage a positive global environment for future discovery and treatment. Our promise is to help the field of stem cell research reach its potential. Photo Credit: @The National Institutes of Health

Wow amazing learning from three days in at International Society for Stem Cell Research’s #Copenhagen International Symposium. Here are some of my key takeaways: - We as a field need to steer away from fascinating forays into science where we produce interesting clinical data with a completely non-economic biomanufacturing path to scale. - This field has come a long way in not a lot of time, saw impressive clinical progress especially in Epilepsy, AMD and PD. Hoping to see the same next year in Cardio. - Compared to this time last year I’m seeing a lot more thought going into carefully sorting out the dose, delivery, and surgical procedure while still pre-clinical. The field has a long way to go in all of these but great steps have been made, which is important for patients who are waiting. #CellinoBio #iPSC #StemLeaders #Biotech #BiotechInnovation #ISSCR2024 #ISSCR #Parkinsons #MacularDegeneration #Epilepsy

Yesterday Sophia Kolbe presented and joined a panel discussion during a session on "Manufacturing and Automation in Cell Therapy Development" at the International Society for Stem Cell Research Copenhagen International Symposium on Pluripotent Stem Cell Derived Therapies, sharing and gaining insights into the future of cell therapy manufacturing. From exploring the use of automation to examining allogeneic vs. autologous manufacturing approaches, strategies to reduce costs, and the integration of AI-based tools, it was a rich discussion on how we can advance the field. Thank you to everyone who attended the session and panel discussion. Today is the last day of the conference. If you haven't already visited our stand, we invite you to stand #7 to talk about Cell and Gene Therapy and how NecstGen can support your cell therapy development and manufacturing needs— André Soares and Sophia Kolbe are looking forward to connecting with you! #ISSCR #stemcells #IPSC #celltherapy #GMP

Very inspiring to attend the International Society for Stem Cell Research symposium in Copenhagen. I am hopeful for the future after hearing about how stem cells might be able to make a real difference for people with Parkinson’s and severe epilepsy. It was nice meeting speakers and attendees that I have previously had the pleasure of hearing presentation from at Medicon Valley Alliance Annual Summit, MVA Executive Club and MVA networks.
