Happy #VoteEarlyDay! Voting early is a safe, secure, and convenient way for voters to cast their ballot for the November election. Here at Issue One, some members of our team choose to vote early – read on to hear from them about why they did and why it matters to them! Georgia: “I’m grateful to live in a city with a transparent, accessible voting process so that I can put the majority of my time into making decisions on the issues that matter most to our democracy rather than figuring out how to vote or waiting to vote.” Mia: “Having flexibility as to where and when I can go vote is incredibly convenient. The environment while voting was positive and exciting and the poll workers made the process smooth and efficient.” Nicole: “Ever since I was a kid, when my parents used to take me with them to vote, Election Day has reflected a deep sense of civic responsibility. I love the feeling of community that happens at my local polling place and the pride of wearing my ‘I voted’ sticker.” Willa: “Trained election workers helped me through the whole process and made me feel right at home. In response to arsonists setting fire to ballot drop boxes in Oregon and Washington and USPS mailboxes in Arizona, our National Council on Election Integrity co-chairs issued a statement calling the incidents "egregious attacks on the fundamental right of every American to cast their vote securely and without fear of interference." Issue One released a new report today that reveals the financial and organizational networks that have been connected to organizations now involved in the Only Citizens Vote Coalition in recent years – a coalition which has been amplifying the threat of noncitizens casting ballots in our elections. As Election Day approaches, we are celebrating the brave election workers who make our democracy possible, most of whom are women. According to new public opinion research, an overwhelming 93.4% of respondents agree that election workers should be shielded from threats and harassment. A new Issue One investigation reveals more than $590 million in contributions since January 2020 to groups that are now part of the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, which has been amplifying the threat of noncitizens casting ballots in our elections and lending credibility to the biggest myth circulating around this year's election.
